Oregon Vacation Day 10

Saying our good-byes with much appreciation of Daf and Cracker's hospitality, we leave Vernonia around 8 am.  We did a little grocery shopping, gassed the vehicle and grabbed some breakfast before we stopped to visit with Mom.  She was waiting for us in her apartment at the Beehive.  Normally she is out and about.  I can never reach her by phone most days it seems, as she stays so active.

I noticed on Mom's patio her beautiful flowers (Darlene planted for her...great job, sis!), and she had already placed the garden stake in her pot that Ashlee made.  It all looked so lovely together.

We visited for awhile and it was with great hesitation that we decided we should go.  I'm sad to have to say good-bye...but, before we do, Cliff takes a photo of the two of us together.  I love you, Mom!!

So we are off again and we head toward Tillamook, stopping at the Tillamook Forest Center.  We have been there several times before, but it's not only a fabulous place learning about the Tillamook Burn and logging  history, but it's a nice place to stretch your legs a bit.

Next stop was at the Tillamook Cheese Factory!  LOVED sampling all the cheese and couldn't leave without some...no, not cheese, but FUDGE!!  We both have sweet-tooths!

On our way again we decide to take a long route down the coast of Oregon and followed the Tillamook Bay around to Cape Meares where we visited the Octopus Tree!

We finally landed in Newport for the night...

...with a beautiful sunset!  It was a really nice way to end our day.
